The following three sizes of poodles all fall into the TOY poodle category. The terms "tiny toy" and "teacup" are used here to help breeders decipher between more specific sizing within the toy category. Smaller poodles are more expensive due to the extra love and care that we put into raising them. They are more fragile and need their mamas much longer then the full size toy pups do. They also often come from smaller litters as mama's are smaller and often require caesarian sections. These of course are all just estimates. No one can with 100% accuracy determine the exact size of a puppy. As a breeder, I do my best to estimate using going by the pups pedigree, previous litter sizes by the same parentage, birth size (bear little weight on adult size), how quickly a puppy is growing (by charting their development), puppy facial features and frame.
Full Size Toy Poodle
Ideally full size toy poodles are considered to be 9+ -10 inches tall at the withers, and between 7-9lbs with occasional poodles that may reach up 11 inches tall and may reach the 10lbs range.
Tiny Toy Size Poodle
Tiny toy size poodles are approximately 8+ - 9 inches tall and between 4+ -6+lbs.
Teacup Size Poodle
Teacup size poodles are generally under 8 inches tall and under 4 pound range.
